Nantong Kewpie Corporation – located in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – on April 27 sent a silk banner to the area's administrative committee.

The gesture was in appreciation of the help it had received from the NETDA in resolving its difficulties and quickly returning it to production in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

To date, all industrial enterprises in the NETDA above a designated size – those with annual main business revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.02 million) or more – have resumed work and production.

Since the pandemic began to ease, the NETDA has set up 10 working groups to provide specific services to 412 resident enterprises that are above the designated size. They have made sure that the  questions from companies are all answered and that their needs are dealt with as soon as possible.

"The resumption of work and production was not accomplished overnight. It involved many problems such as resource allocations and worker placements. Fortunately, the NETDA helped us solve many practical difficulties," said an executive at Merck Pharmaceuticals (Jiangsu) Co Ltd.

Thanks to the cooperation of various parties, Merck Pharmaceuticals, which had been suspended due to the epidemic, recently fully resumed production.
