NETDA's theater wins provincial recognition

The Nengda Theater in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), East China's Jiangsu province, has been listed among the demonstration theaters in the province, according to an announcement by the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Oct 21.

The theater is equipped with facilities that allows it to stage modern dramas, children's plays, traditional opera works, dances, musical performances, gala shows, as well as holding lectures and business events. 

The theater has been hosting high-quality operas since the beginning of its operations on Nov 7, 2020 to enrich the cultural life of local residents. It holds more than 150 events every year, including performances for different age groups and local art ensembles, and public lectures, according to Shi Yu, the manager of the theater. 

Tang Jinhua, the deputy director of NETDA's social affairs bureau, said that the theater will focus its efforts on rolling out more children's dramas in the near future. 

He added that the theater will channel more resources towards creating more excellent dramas and strengthening cooperation with other theaters.
