The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) recently held a meeting in Shanghai to promote its key industries.

The meeting was attended by nearly 100 representatives from local enterprises and witnessed the signing of a cooperation framework agreement between NETDA and the Shanghai Entrepreneur Association, or SEA.

At the meeting, representatives from NETDA invited members of SEA to visit the area and noted that NETDA will continue improving its infrastructure and services to create a broader development space for local businesses.

NETDA placed 21st on the latest ranking of national development areas by the Ministry of Commerce. To date, the area has hosted nearly 3,000 enterprises, including over 800 foreign-invested companies and four emerging industrial clusters involving new-generation information technology, biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, and new energy.

In recent years, local municipal authorities have offered strong support for NETDA's development. The development area plans to build a 16-square-kilometer Binjiang Bay for scientific innovation, R&D, international communities and a 10-sq km future industry park.
