Rudong county, located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province, held an online meeting on March 17 with power plant developer and operator China Resources Power Holdings Company Limited – also known as CR Power – and new energy power operator and solar power accessories provider, the Akcome Group.

The parties discussed pre-construction issues concerning a solar power industry supply chain project to be developed in the county's Yangkou Port Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The project consists of two parts: solar power cells and panels production and photovoltaic power generation, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan ($1.57 billion).

CR Power's business covers thermal power, wind power, solar power, hydropower, distributed energy, electricity sales, integrated energy services and other related fields. For its part, Akcome Group is a leading comprehensive supplier of new energy manufacturing in China.

The green energy industry that is dominated by wind power and liquefied natural gas is widely said to have become the most distinctive calling card of Rudong.

Last year, 77 companies in the wind power and related equipment industry in Rudong generated taxable sales of more than 60 billion yuan.
