The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Rudong county in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently established 60 groups of escort staff members to individually guide incoming trucks, ensuring the freight flows smoothly to its end destination in the area.

The initiative was introduced by the zone's administrative committee. The aim is to resolve any problems of resident enterprises facing delays to deliveries of urgently needed raw materials and any problems encountered selling their products during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The escorts are stationed at the entrances of two expressways. After learning the trucks have entered Rudong, they inform the enterprise to come and get the cargo at a designated site, while they guide the trucks to that site.

After the freight is unloaded, the trucks are then escorted back to the expressway.

From April 6 to 9, the escorts picked up 601 trucks in total, guaranteeing the supply of raw materials and equipment for enterprises and project sites – realizing zero delay in product deliveries.
