PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal in Rudong county, East China's Jiangsu province, set a new record in 2025, receiving over 7.5 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas — up 15.9 percent from the previous year.

Chen Xiong, maritime and port affairs manager at the terminal, highlighted the terminal's status as the largest offshore LNG energy hub in China, saying it boasts six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cubic meters and a daily regasification capacity of 39 million cu m.

This capacity meets nearly one-third of Jiangsu's total gas needs and ensures energy stability for the Yangtze River Delta region, Chen said.

Since its first LNG shipment in May 2011, the terminal has received over 69 million tons of LNG from 27 countries and regions, including Russia, Canada and Qatar, and exported nearly 100 billion cu m of natural gas, contributing to the sustainable development of the Yangtze River Delta region.

To ensure seamless LNG clearance, Rudong Customs has opened a green channel for energy supply, streamlining traditional multi-step inspections into a single "one-stop boarding" process. "Leveraging smart customs technology, we have achieved 'ship-to-inspection' synchronization through remote monitoring, intelligent sampling, and real-time checks," said He Jian, deputy director of Rudong Customs.
