A beach cleaning charity event was held at Golden Beach in Qidong's Yuantuojiao on Sept 11 to promote the protection of the coastline environment.

This event was a branch event of the fifth national beach cleaning campaign, which was held nationwide in nearly 300 coastal cities.

Qidong was the only county-level city to hold a beach cleaning event, attracting more than 200 volunteers.

The event was strongly supported by the China Oceanic Development Foundation, and Qidong was designated a national public welfare demonstration site for beach cleaning.

In recent years, Qidong has held various events to promote coastline protection, such as a photography exhibition and an art exhibition comprised of works made with ocean garbage.
