Pyrograph is one of the three treasures in Nanyang. According to the principle of carbonization, it is drawn on bamboo, silk, Chinese art paper or other materials by a short slender pointed piece of iron heated to 300 to 800 degrees.

The pyrograph stems from the Western Han Dynasty and boomed in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was once lost due to famine and chaos caused by war in successive years. In the 1920s, the pyrograph has developed into a special handicraft industry, and pyrograph products became famous for folk art in Nanyang as a result.
