Red Army No 25 corps fight hard in Dushu town

On Nov 16, 1934, the Red Army No 25 corps with over 2,980 people led by Cheng Zihua, Wu Huanxian and Xu Haidong was blocked by Kuomintang forces in Dushu town, Fangcheng county. After a fierce bloody battle, the No 25 troop won a victory.

Fanglin Alcohol Plant: First joint-stock factory of the Communist Party of China in Nanyang

In November 1939, Tai Shifang, then minister of the organization department of a local branch of the Communist Party of China, founded the Fanglin alcohol plant, which was approved by Liu Shaoqi.

Tai built the first factory of the CPC in the Kuomintang area, under the cover of cooperation with Bie Tingfang, commander of a self-defense corps, to run a joint-stock company. The plant made outstanding contributions to the liberation of China.

Fanglin Alcohol Plant is the predecessor of Henan Tianguan Group.

Du Fengrui: Hero of the air force

Du Fengrui (1933–1958), born in Yanglou village, Fangcheng county, joined the army in 1948. He was a correspondent, a bugler and a pilot, successively. On Oct 10, 1958, he was shot down by the Kuomintang while parachuting after piloting a plane over Longtian, Fujian province. He was buried near West Lake in Fuzhou. He was awarded as a "Hero of the Air Force" by the Military Commission of the Central Committee of the CPC and granted a first class merit by the air command.
