With the Chinese New Year fast approaching, festivities in Zhenping county, Nanyang are already in full swing. On Jan 23, the county held a special activity with around 20 calligraphers from the Zhenping Literary Association to write Spring Festival couplets for locals.

"The handwritten Spring Festival couplets are great and have really put me in the holiday spirit," said a local, "it's too good to simply hang on the wall. I'm thinking about framing it and treating it as a collectable."

Moreover, several Zhenping artists staged special folk performances at Wenhua Square, winning praise from the public. The performances were themed around poverty relief, the construction of a new Zhenping county and Nanyang's development.
