Nanyang to provide citizens with more convenient public transportation
The city of Nanyang is set to establish a GPS or Beidou taxi monitoring and management system in the downtown area this year, as well as an electronic bus stop sign system, according to the Nanyang City Transportation Bureau.
Faced with the challenges presented by the taxi industry's multi-faceted, widely dispersed, single-person and single-car operations, it is necessary to establish an advanced monitoring and management system and to strengthen dispatch management.
The city will establish a GPS or Beidou taxi navigation monitoring and management system to facilitate real-time vehicle positioning, height monitoring and anti-robbery and anti-theft alarms, improve the safety of taxi operations and their ability to handle emergencies, and promote the standardized management of the taxi industry.
It will also use advanced technologies to interface with the current intelligent bus dispatch system, and display real-time bus arrival information through electronic signs, providing accurate vehicle arrival forecasts for passengers.
In addition, the bus electronic stop signs will come with functions such as multimedia video playback, real-time video monitoring, voice broadcast, and public information release, which play an important role in promoting the quality of the city and beautifying the image of the city.
