China continues to have booming, growing parcel delivery
The number of parcels China handled in the first seven months of this year has remained at an annual double digit growth, showcasing the country's vitality in economic recovery.
According to the State Post Bureau of China, 70.3 billion parcels were collected and delivered from January to July, a year-on-year increase of 12.8 percent.
Among them, majority of the parcels — 61.4 billion — were cross-region delivery, up 17 percent year-on-year.
Some 1.6 billion packages were related to overseas business, including Hong Kong, Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan. It has increased by 57.2 percent year-on-year.
Last month, 10.77 billion parcels were handled, up 11.7 percent compared with the same period last year.
China's parcel delivery business has been booming in the past decade. The number of parcels handled has increased from about 1 billion per year to 1 billion per month.
Last year, the country handled 110.58 billion parcels.
