Meng Qingbao, a 62-year-old sanitation worker in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, is not only beautifying the city but also pursuing his dream of becoming an artist.

Sanitation workers are often referred to as the beauticians of the city, and Meng is no exception. For the past 12 years, amidst his busy schedule, Meng has devoted himself to the pursuit of his hobby - painting.

"Since childhood, I've had a passion for painting. During my school days, I used to create chalkboard posters. I like painting landscapes, galloping horses, portraits, and movie advertisements. Whenever inspiration strikes, I pick up my brush and start painting," said Meng.

Meng firmly believes that even in ordinary moments, one can find beauty within. Although not a professional artist, painting has become an indispensable part of Meng's life.

In Meng's portable "treasure chest", alongside paints with faded labels and a bowl stained with various colors, there are also materials like hardboard paper, calendar paper, and frames.

"I collect anything that can be used for painting and recycle waste material," Meng laughed. He hopes to paint on ceramics, allowing his art to be preserved longer and seen by more people.

"Meng has his own unique style of painting," said Shi Jianjun, head of the sanitation station," He always manages to complete his tasks impeccably. We fully support workers with dreams.
