Construction commenced on a 5,000-ton level dock located in Hepu town, Xiangshan county, Ningbo, on June 24.

With an annual designed throughput capacity of 99,600 tons, the dock comes as an integral component of an offshore wind power equipment industrial park funded by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC).

Measuring 130 meters in length, 35 meters in width, 7.5 meters in depth at the front, the dock plays a crucial role in storing and transporting critical components of wind power equipment, such as main engines, blades, hubs, gearboxes, and pitch systems, at the industrial park, which covers an area of approximately 450 mu (30 hectares).

Progress on the onshore construction of the industrial park is rapidly moving towards completion. The initial phase of the facility, designed with an annual production capacity of 540,000 kilowatt-hours, is expected to generate an annual output value of 1.8 billion yuan ($247.84 million). Looking ahead, the envisioned long-term annual production capacity is expected to reach 1.2 million kWh, establishing it as the largest offshore wind power equipment assembly base in East China.
