Founded during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Tianyi Pavilion stands as one of the oldest private libraries in China. Hundreds of years of history are contained in its more than 300,000 volumes, making it a national center for the restoration of ancient books and also a symbol of Ningbo's cultural heritage and preservation efforts. It inspires visitors to draw strength from ancient books and Chinese civilization.
