Hungary Day in Ningbo for Business and Tourism took place on July 8 in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.

The event was attended by Bolla Szilárd, consul general of Hungary in Shanghai, and János Füle, diplomat for Culture and Education Affairs at the consulate, as well as representatives from local enterprises, universities and research institutions.

In 2023, both the trade volume between Ningbo and Hungary surged past $500 million, nearly doubling the figure from half a decade ago, while the cumulative bilateral investments have exceeded $200 million, with notable contributions from 16 Ningbo-based companies like Huashuo and Joyson, who have made significant inroads into Hungary's market.

Szilárd, a familiar face in Ningbo, expressed his deep connection to the city, stating, "Today's event marks my ninth visit to Ningbo, underscoring my commitment to fostering Sino-Hungarian relations. I take pride in my consistent participation in the China-CEEC Expo, a testament to our enduring partnership. I eagerly await our upcoming tenth gathering."

Emphasizing Hungary's attractive investment landscape, advanced infrastructure, and skilled workforce, Szilárd encouraged attendees to delve deeper into Hungary's offerings. He urged both longstanding acquaintances and new connections in Ningbo to explore the diverse opportunities Hungary presents, inviting them to witness firsthand the country's economic vibrancy and potential.
