Ningbo exporter delivers 6,000 raincoats to Paris Olympics

"I never imagined our raincoats would make their way to the Paris Olympics," said Sun Shunli, general manager of Cixi Huaying Raincoat Co Ltd, on Aug 5th, as 6,000 raincoats dispatched urgently from Ningbo, Zhejiang province, arrived safely in Paris, France, within just six days.

The story began on July 29 when an employee at Sun's company received an urgent order on Alibaba, requiring a shipment of 6,000 raincoats to Paris for use at the Olympic Games.

"These are lightweight raincoats; we call them 'card-style ponchos', made from eco-friendly materials that are both portable and resilient. Although marketed as disposable, they can withstand repeated use without tearing," said Sun, "With a monthly production capacity of around three to four million pieces, 6,000 raincoats was a piece of cake for our factory."

On July 31, the 6,000 raincoats were packed and affixed with dedicated logistics labels before being picked up by AliExpress logistics for shipment.

"The logistics service personnel promised me delivery within five working days, which I calculated would be seven days including the weekend. But to my surprise, they arrived on Aug 5, a day earlier! It's incredible that we achieved a six-day delivery from Ningbo to Paris," Sun said.

“For me, it's like winning a 'gold medal,' " Sun said excitedly.
