Ningbo unveils cultural menu for a vibrant October

As the National Day holiday approaches, Ningbo, Zhejiang province, has prepared a cultural feast for visitors and residents alike with the release of the October edition of its "Ningbo City Cultural Menu".

This comprehensive guide compiles nearly 200 cultural events across the city, spanning performances, exhibitions, films, and reading activities, ensuring a month filled with artistic and educational experiences.

The "Ningbo City Cultural Menu" has now been officially launched in English, making it accessible to an international audience. With a simple click or scan of a QR code, individuals can explore and save the diverse array of cultural offerings available throughout October.

History buffs will be able to travel back in time at a variety of museums. The "Magnificent Long Song: Eternal Journey of the Mwangdui Han Tombs" exhibition opens at the China Port Museum on Oct 1, while "Underwater Archaeology in China" will be exhibited long-term at the Ningbo Base for National Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection (China Port Museum) from Oct 16 onwards. Additionally, the "Oriental Legacy-Million-Year Journey through Human History in China" exhibition is being held at the Ningbo Museum until Oct 8, showcasing artifacts that tell the story of human evolution and civilization.

The month is also marked by a series of captivating performances. An Ultraman series stage play titled "Alien Invaders" will thrill audiences at the Ningbo Cultural Plaza Grand Theater on Oct 1. Meanwhile, "Tribute to Classics: A Grand Celebration of the Chinese Style" will entertain visitors with a blend of traditional and modern performances at the Ningbo Cultural Plaza from Oct 2 to 4. Yue Opera enthusiasts can also catch performances at Ningbo's Tianran Theater.

Furthermore, the city's vibrant folk culture will be celebrated through various events, including the NBSD Fantasy Steer Art Festival and the third Pop Music Competition of Zhejiang Province. These activities not only showcase Ningbo's rich cultural heritage but also provide opportunities for visitors to engage in intangible cultural heritage experiences, allowing them to appreciate the wisdom and creativity of their ancestors.
