The International Triennial of Graphic Art Bitola (Bitola-IGT) was launched at the Tianyi Pavilion Museum in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Jan 8.
This exhibition features over 100 artists from around the world, showcasing their unique styles and cultural backgrounds through printmaking, highlighting the art's boundless charm.
The Bitola-IGT, founded in 1993 at the Bitola Contemporary Art Museum, is a renowned international printmaking exhibition. This event marks the 30th anniversary of Bitola-IGT and, for the first time, it's being held in both Europe and Asia.
The exhibition features 120 artists from 50 countries, displaying more than 150 works, including traditional woodcuts, etchings, silkscreen prints, mixed media, monoprints, and digital art.
Luo Qi, the event's producer, highlighted that the city of Bitola in North Macedonia and Ningbo in China are sister cities, which facilitated this "transnational joint exhibition". The aim is to promote cultural interaction between European and Asian artists.
Tianyi Pavilion, with its nearly 460-year history, is the oldest existing private library in Asia and one of the three oldest family libraries in the world. It houses numerous exquisite print collections. Austrian artist Bransha Gautier expressed her awe and emphasized the importance of understanding Chinese culture.
The exhibition, held in Yunzai Pavilion and Zhoujin Hall, will run until March 2.
