The container ship MSC Adya departed from the Chuanshan port area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port after being loaded with over 10,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas on Jan 5. This was the port's first LNG bunkering operation of the year.

The global shipping industry's demand for green and low-carbon development has surged in recent years, leading to a rapid increase in the number of LNG-fueled vessels and accelerating the growth of the LNG bunkering industry.

With strong support from government departments, ports, and partner enterprises, LNG bunkering operation in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone has been expanding, while its service level has significantly improved.

In June 2024, Zhejiang Seaport International Trading Co, a Zhoushan-based company, obtained the LNG bunkering license for Zhoushan's anchorages, extending bunkering services from the dock to offshore.

In August 2024, the company passed the review of navigable and simultaneous operation reports for relevant port areas in order to expand its service to the Meishan, Chuanshan, and Daxie port areas.

As China's first full-range LNG transport and bunkering vessel, the Haiyang Shiyou 302 is now permanently stationed at Ningbo Zhoushan Port, which offers various bunkering methods. Along with its sister ship Haiyang Shiyou 301, it ensures high-quality LNG bunkering.
