Ningbo deputies share experiences at Zhejiang congress

Ningbo's delegation attended the first plenary meeting at the 3rd session of the 14th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress on Jan 13. Three Ningbo deputies shared their experiences and insights.

Xia Feng, a deputy from Oriental Cable, shared his journey in advancing submarine cable technology. His motions last year on marine city development and port opening were adopted by the provincial government, underscoring the importance of ocean-minded economic development.

Xia and his research team have developed deep-sea umbilical cables and ultra-high voltage submarine cables, ensuring national marine energy independence. He advocates for targeted cooperation between universities and enterprises to drive innovation.

Lu Yun, a senior engineer from Ningbo Meteorological Service Center, once highlighted Ningbo's need for enhanced scientific infrastructure. Her motions led to the establishment of the National Key Laboratory for Marine Key Materials, marking a significant breakthrough for Ningbo. Lu also addresses community concerns, such as rental housing safety, through active participation in voter liaison activities.

Lu Baofa, Party secretary of Xiejieshan village, emphasized the potential of rural areas. He has led efforts to create an eco-friendly rural environment, attract investments, and improve the business climate. Lu submitted suggestions on innovative mechanisms for idle homestead storage that contribute to rural economic vitalization.
