Ningbo airport sets multiple records during Spring Festival travel rush

The 2025 Spring Festival travel rush ended on Feb 22, with Ningbo Lishe International Airport breaking multiple records.

During the 40-day period, Ningbo airport transported 1.89 million passengers and supported 13,400 flights, marking year-on-year increases of 11.3 percent and 7.2 percent, respectively.

From Jan 28 to Feb 4, the Spring Festival holiday, the airport's passenger volume exceeded 400,000 for the first time. From Jan 30 to Feb 7, daily passenger counts surpassed 50,000 for nine consecutive days, with a peak of 54,300 passengers on Feb 3.

This year's Spring Festival travel rush saw robust domestic and international passenger traffic.

Popular domestic destinations included Guiyang, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Kunming, Harbin, and Shenzhen. The airport expanded its flight network, adding 230 flights to accommodate the surge.

For international routes, Ningbo airport expanded key routes and launched new ones to Phnom Penh and Phuket. The total number of inbound and outbound passengers in this period exceeded 130,000, an increase of nearly 60 percent year-on-year. Air cargo operations remained stable, maintaining efficient routes to Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka, Chicago, and New York.

Ningbo airport launched several new services to meet travelers' needs. Improved services included new charging stations and diverse payment options for international travelers. Public spaces now have themed art exhibitions, digital technology, and interactive spaces, which creates a culturally enriching atmosphere for passengers.
