The Fifth National Conference on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Science (CSIAM-BDAI 2024) was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia, from July 12 to 14.
Organized by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM), the conference featured keynote speeches, thematic seminars, and specialized forums aimed at building a robust theoretical framework for the advancement of big data analysis methods and AI algorithms in China, according to a representative from the organizing committee.
Xu Zongben, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, highlighted during the event that Ningxia has in recent years been capitalizing on its advantages in the computing power industry and has been recognized as one of the most suitable regions in the country for the construction of large and super-large data centers.
Huai Ningmin, deputy director of the Ningxia Data Center, underscored that Ningxia boasts significant advantages in the development of the computing power industry as it is home to the nation's first 750 kV dual-loop main grid structure, the only one in the country built with all-natural wind cooling technology.
Huai added that Ningxia will focus on computing power facilities, data elements, digital applications, security and innovation, and future technologies to accelerate the construction of a computing power facilities manufacturing base, a national data supply chain cultivation base, and a model for innovation and adaptation projects.
