The entries are evaluated based on four price categories – table wine, regional table wine, high-quality wine and reserve wine – according to the retail prices provided by the participating enterprises. This ensures that the results of the competition offer precise purchasing guidance for consumers.
By the end of the sample collection period, the competition had received 1,222 entries from 33 wine regions in 18 countries. This marks the highest number of entries ever received for a wine competition in Ningxia and a 14.5-percent increase compared to 2023.
Tonny Tong, an international judge for the event, noted that international competitions bring together winemaking techniques and wine varieties from around the world, facilitating a cultural exchange with the wine culture of Ningxia.
