The 13th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Ningxia Division) semi-finals were held in Yongning county, Yinchuan, Ningxia, on Aug 19.
Since beginning in mid-June, this year's competition has focused on five major industries: next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, biomedicine and energy conservation, environmental protection, and new energy vehicles.
A total of 538 enterprises signed up for the competition. After an initial online review and selection process, 97 enterprises have entered the semi-finals. From these semi-finalists, 46 enterprises will be selected to compete in the finals.
The competition continues to serve as a vital platform for showcasing innovative talents and projects, fostering an environment of creativity and entrepreneurship in Ningxia. A local official noted that the competition aims to further promote the integration of technological innovation with industrial development, driving the region's economic transformation and upgrading.
Ningxia has hosted the competition for eight consecutive years, attracting over 3,800 participating enterprises that have collectively received financial support totaling 1.4 billion yuan ($196.32 million).
The competition has facilitated the emergence of numerous innovative companies with advanced technologies. It has also promoted the commercialization of various scientific and technological achievements, making it a crucial platform for innovation and entrepreneurship in Ningxia.
