On Oct 1, the Huinong to Yinchuan section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway began operations, integrating Shizuishan into China's national high-speed railway network.
The Huinong-Yinchuan segment is a crucial component of the Beijing to Lanzhou high-speed railway corridor, connecting seamlessly with the Yinchuan-Xi'an and Yinchuan-Lanzhou lines. Stretching 97 kilometers, the railway is designed for speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour and includes four stations: Huinong South, Shizuishan, Shahu, and Yinchuan.
This new line will significantly enhance travel convenience for residents along the route. According to a local official, it represents a major step in establishing a north-south high-speed rail corridor in Ningxia, advancing the region's comprehensive transportation network.
