The China-Central Asia Photo Exhibition opened in Yinchuan, Ningxia, on Oct 26, drawing significant attention from attendees.
A photograph featuring Central Asian and Ningxia youth sparked considerable interest and discussion among the audience.
The photo was taken on July 27 during the 2024 Ningxia International Youth Friendship Camp in Yinchuan. This event brought together 34 young people from 12 countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, to foster friendship and discuss future cooperation with Ningxia youth.
In recent years, Ningxia has used the opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative to deepen and expand its exchanges and cooperation with Central Asian countries. It has achieved notable results in trade and investment, modern agriculture, science and technology education, sister city youth exchanges, and cultural interactions with the five Central Asian countries.
Ningxia also supported enterprises in going global, engaging in forage crop cultivation, processing, and transportation businesses. It has strengthened cooperation with overseas institutions, Chinese enterprises abroad, and trade associations. It has also expanded cooperation channels by organizing specialized overseas exhibitions and maintaining stable international freight train operations.
From January to August, Ningxia's total imports and exports with Central Asian countries reached 75.81 million yuan ($10.65 million). Major export products included polyethylene, engineering machinery, spandex elastic yarn, and methionine.
Over the past decade, Ningxia's total imports and exports with the five Central Asian countries reached 1.89 billion yuan, with exports totaling 1.55 billion yuan and imports 260 million yuan. The trade volumes with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan were 810 million yuan, 650 million yuan, 250 million yuan, 50 million yuan, and 40 million yuan, respectively.
Ningxia's international sister city relationships with the five Central Asian countries have flourished in recent years. These relationships promote local cooperation, deepen mutual understanding among different ethnic groups, and align with the trend of win-win cooperation.
