In recent years, Funing village in Huaiyuan Road sub-district, Xixia district, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has explored a path to revitalize the village and enrich local people through innovative industrial models and the development of characteristic planting.
The village has built a modern agricultural industrial park, with 49 standardized sunlight greenhouses. They are leased by villagers and enterprises to plant high-value economic crops such as figs, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and loquats.

Meanwhile, the employment and entrepreneurship assistance base in the village has attracted two enterprises focusing on packaging and lantern making, respectively, which can provide more employment opportunities for villagers.
The comprehensive elderly care service center in the village has introduced a third-party operation. It has received more than 700 visitors for activities like study practice and cultural performances.
Besides the above-mentioned development paths, the village has constructed a comprehensive-use new energy project combining photovoltaic power generation, energy storage and charging. The project has installed 30 kW photovoltaic panels, 64 kWh energy storage cabinets, seven 7 kW charging stations, and two carports, which can collectively generate 48,000 kWh power each year. This can increase the village's economic income by 16,000 yuan ($2,319) a year.

"In recent years, the collective economic income of our village has been increasing year by year. We allocate the income from poverty alleviation assets to share dividends to low-income households as well as people with disabilities in our jurisdiction, so everyone can enjoy the fruits of development," said Zhao Zhonghuan, an official from the village.
Looking ahead, the village plans to extend the integrated development chain of agriculture, culture and tourism, and actively develop diversified models of leisure agriculture, homestays and catering.
