Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics co-hosted the 26th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE-NANO 2026), one of the world's premier gatherings in the field, from July 5 to 8 in Nanjing, Jiangsu province.
The four-day event brought together more than 500 researchers, industry experts and graduate students from 37 countries.
On behalf of the organizing committee, Professor Liu Weiqiang of NUAA presented an overview of the conference. He noted that this year's edition featured 20 technical tracks and received more than 400 paper submissions from researchers in 49 countries, with an overall acceptance rate of 73.88 percent.
The conference hosted a total of 435 presentations, complemented by a series of specialized programs designed to engage researchers at different career stages. These included tutorial sessions, Nanotechnology Youth Day and the Student Design Competition.
A highlight of IEEE-NANO 2026 was its lineup of 20 keynote speakers from leading universities and industry. Their presentations explored cutting-edge topics including next-generation memory and intelligent computing technologies, bio-inspired sensing and artificial vision, two-dimensional material devices, bio-inspired nano-interfaces and bioelectronics.

The conference also featured an exhibition area where leading nanotechnology companies and scientific instrument suppliers from China and abroad presented their latest technologies and research tools.
The exhibition created opportunities for participants to explore new technological developments while strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.

Outstanding achievements were recognized through a series of IEEE Nanotechnology Council awards, including honors for Best Paper, Best Student Paper, and Best Student Poster.
