The overall environmental protection work in Ordos has improved significantly.

As of now, the average of six monitoring pollutants in the city has reached the national secondary standard. In particular, the average concentration of PM2.5 is 0.027 mg/m3, which is way below the national standard.

With the average annual high quality air days accounting for more than 80 percent of the total number of days, the air quality in Ordos was significantly improved.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, Ordos has invested 11 billion yuan ($1.62 billion dollars) in environmental protection.

However, in order to keep "Ordos blue" permanently in the sky, there is still a lot of work the entire city needs to do to fight against the environmental pollution.

Strengthening ecological environment protection, speeding up green development and changing natural advantages to economic advantages are the key aspects of the city's future development.
