The Ordos wedding tradition is a national-level intangible cultural heritage item. Ulan Muqir, an art troupe touring remote areas and performing folk music and dance for herdsmen in Otog Banner in Ordos, created a stage musical in the late 1970s to represent the typical Ordos Mongolian wedding.
