Ordos sees increase in tourism revenue during national holiday

Ordos, located in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, recorded tourism revenue of 765 million yuan ($115.46 million), during the 8-day national holiday, a year-on-year increase of 15 percent, according to the city’s bureau of tourism. 

The statistics revealed that Ordos received 1.82 million visitors, an increase of 47 percent than the same period last year, and an indication that the city is gaining more popularity with tourists.   

Various scenic spots in Ordos seized the golden opportunity to promote themselves and successfully won favor from tourists.

Scenic spots such as the Resonant Sand Gorge, Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and Ordos Grasslands were among the most popular destinations.

Scenic spots featuring indoors water entertainment such as the Gathering Paradise, Bulonghu Spring and Wantong Water World also became hot spots due to the low temperature during the national holiday, attracting some 37,000 visitors.
