Jiangsu companies favor Ordos

Intended to attract investment from Jiangsu province to Ordos, the Ordos Investment Promotion Conference for Undertaking Industrial Transfer from the Yangtze River Delta Region was held in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu, on Dec 12.

The conference saw more than 130 representatives from government, business and civil society convene in Nanjing.

Yu Renjie, vice-mayor of Ordos, spoke at the conference about the recently strengthened ties between the city and the Yangtze River Delta Region, and Jiangsu province in particular.

Since the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), companies from the Yangtze River Delta Region have invested 65 billion yuan ($9.84 billion) in Ordos, advancing the city’s economic growth.

Yu also noted that Ordos now faces a time of economic transition and industrial upgrade, and sees obvious advantages in undertaking industrial transference. Yu also promised that Ordos would offer a favorable investment environment for companies coming to the city.

The conference was presented by the Ejin Horoo government with support from the Ordos government and commerce department, as well as the commerce department of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The Ejin Horoo government has signed cooperative agreements with 12 organizations, generating investment of 7.42 billion yuan in high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy materials, environmental protection and cloud computing.

Covering 210,700 square kilometers across Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and Shanghai city, the Yangze River Delta Region is China’s largest economic zone.
