The government of Ordos signed a deal with Peking University to cooperate in the research of the comprehensive use of resources, contamination control, and new materials for environmental energy, as well as in the construction of an industrial base, at Ordos High-tech Industrial Zone, on April 24. 

According to the agreement, Peking University will partner with Ordos government and Ordos Institute of Technology to develop cooperation in the areas mentioned above.

The university will also join forces with Ordos High-tech Industrial Zone and the government to jointly construct Ordos Innovation Research Institute of Technology with the aim of conducting research in the fields of utilizing resources, controlling contamination and developing new materials, as well as attracting skilled workers. 

The government hopes that the deal with Peking University will accelerate the transformation of technology into practical applications in Ordos, and help build the city into a national demonstration base for research on the comprehensive use of resources and new materials for environmental energy. 

Following the signing ceremony, the representatives in attendance visited the Research Institute for Coal-based New Materials at Inner Mongolia Yitai Group and Baishan Health Institute.
