The city of Ordos in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently made it onto the list of China’s top 100 cities for their all-round moderate prosperity index, according to a recent news release by a local media organization.

The list was released by the Competiveness Think Thank and the China Information Industry Association, with the aim of making an all-round evaluation on the development of 653 Chinese cities in 2017.

Factors in the evaluation include economic growth, people’s livelihoods, the ability to offer cultural services, conservation of the ecological environment and social administration.

With seven other cities in Inner Mongolia, including Baotou, Hohhot and Wuhai, Ordos was honored by ranking ninth on the list.
