Ordos’ tourism revenue hits $3b in first half

Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region recorded tourism revenues of $3 billion during the first half of the year, representing growth of 21 percent over the same period last year, according to a recent news release by a local media organization. 

According to the statistics, the city received around 7 million tourists during the first six months of 2018, a year-on-year increase of 19 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, Ordos government has focused on developing its tourism industry, with the aim of building the city into a popular tourist destination, utilizing its rich culture, grassland scenery, the Yellow River, and the nearby desert.
