Ordos district, banner score top marks in national rankings

Dongsheng district and Juungar Banner in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region have both made it onto national top 100 lists. The two areas feature on national rankings for China’s Top 100 Districts and Top 100 Counties (Cities), according to a report on the development of small and medium-sized cities released on Oct 8.

The report was released by the Committee for Economic Development of Middle-sized and Small Cities at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Development Strategy of Middle-sized and Small Cities, and the Institute of Development Strategy of Middle-sized and Small Cities.

Juungar Banner ranked 21st on the list of China’s Top 100 Counties (Cities) and Dongsheng district ranked 46th on the list of China’s Top 100 Districts.

The report also listed the top 100 districts for green development, investment potential, technological innovation, and the quality of recent urbanization. 

Dongsheng district was placed 56th on the list of the top 100 districts for green development and was rated 11th on a separate list for investment potential.
