An Inner Mongolian dance drama entitled Little Heroic Sisters of the Grassland, which was created at the Inner Mongolia Arts University, was performed at the 12th China Art Festival in Shanghai on May 29. It will compete for a Wenhua Award.

Adapted from the true story of two Mongolian girls who risked their lives to protect the property of their local community, the dance drama showcases the courage of the Prairie Sisters through montages and a combination of realism and romanticism.

According to local media reports, the dance drama will also be performed in Zhongshan Park in Shanghai on May 31.

The Wenhua Awards are the most prestigious awards for professional arts. They were established by the Ministry of Culture and are presented every three years. This year's Wenhua Awards have a total of 38 entries divided into four categories, including drama dance and opera dance.
