A total of 18 investment projects were signed at a promotional conference for the Ordos processing trade at the Ordos innovation and entrepreneurship base in Ordos, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Sept 23.

Officials said that, as well, investments were signed for the Ordos Comprehensive Bonded Zone on the same day at the base.

With its theme of "regional linkage, deepen opening, win-win cooperation", the conference attracted the participation of 129 import and export companies, as well as chambers of commerce and innovation parks at home and abroad and over 200 business leaders.

At the meeting, a total of 18 projects were signed, with a total amount of about 2.72 billion yuan ($383 million).

The projects involve metallurgical and mining equipment imports and exports, bonded red wine, the processing of bonded agricultural and associated products, the storage of bonded food, a parallel imported automobile bonded exhibition center, cultural tourism and other fields.

According to local media reports, the conference is expected to further promote industrial clusters and the development of Ordos Comprehensive Bonded Zone – as well as promoting the economic transformation and development of Ordos.

Officials said the conference will also increase cooperation and exchanges between Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Yulin in Shaanxi province.

They said it will provide high-quality project resources and a sound investment environment for enterprises in the processing trade and comprehensive bonded industry in these cities. It will broaden investment and development channels and build a platform for regional linkage and win-win cooperation, they added.

After the conference, representatives from companies who attended then visited Ordos Airport Logistics Park and Ordos Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
