A key forum on promoting the digitalization, networking and intelligence of industrial development was held in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 18, according to local media reports.

The forum was co-sponsored by several departments of the autonomous region, the municipal government of Ordos and CASICloud-Tech Co Ltd.

At the forum, domestic and international experts exchanged views on current developments and provided analysis of industrial internet trends. They also examined the transformation of the digital economy, the win-win 5G era and the implementation path of digital industrial smart factories in process industries. New concepts, models and schemes were provided for the development of digital networked intelligent industries in the autonomous region.

According to local officials, the forum is of great significance to accelerate the industrial transformation of Inner Mongolia and to promote the deep integration of Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and the real economy.

It is also seen driving forwards the development of the digital economy, as well as being important to cultivate new driving forces and new growth poles for new industries -- and to promote the high-quality development of Inner Mongolia's economy.
