The procuratorate of Dongsheng district in Ordos, a city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, have constructed an intelligent supervision platform, local officials said.
It aims to fulfill the supervision duty of the procuratorial organ, with the help of supervision powers for the public -- and to further expand the sources of public interest litigation and form a joint force for society to protect the public interest.
Partnered by Dongsheng district's integrated media center, the procuratorate recently launched a column about "public interest supervision" on the service and consultation platform -- the "Beautiful Dongsheng" mobile app.
"Beautiful Dongsheng" is a mobile app integrating news and commentary, with topics ranging across the ecology and culture, peace-building and convenient public services.
Officials said it has many registered users and has raised the profile of the issues with the public.
They said the column set by Dongsheng procuratorate is simple and easy to operate.
Through the platform, the public can report illegal acts that may harm the national interest and social public interest. These are in the fields of ecological environment and resource protection, food and drug safety, the transfer of state-owned land use rights and the protection of heroes and martyrs.
Photos and videos can be uploaded anonymously or under real names, with text descriptions and real-time reports.
After receiving the content of the report from the public, the procuratorial organ will investigate and verify the information as soon as possible, so as to ensure there are responses to every case and that measures are implemented.
According to procuratorate officials, they will further utilize the potential of the internet and big data to service public interest supervision.
They will also connect the legal data supervision center of the procuratorate with the "public interests supervision" column and form a "big data + public interests litigation" model.
This will integrate clue collection, expand case sources, data integration, analysis and judgment – giving full play to the public interest supervision function of the procuratorial organ.
Officials said it would promote administration according to law and strict legal enforcement.
