New heat-power cogeneration plant put into operation in Ordos

A new combined heat and power station -- or CHP -- with two 25-megawatt units started generating heat and electricity on Jan 10 in Uxin Banner in Ordos, a city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to local officials.

A CHP power station employs state-of-the-art technology to generate electricity and useful heat at the same time.

The new plant site covers 78,500 square meters and the building area is 25,018 sq m.

Its production unit is composed of four sets of 150 t/h high-temperature and high-pressure circulating fluidized boilers and two 25mW high-temperature and high-pressure steam turbine generator units.

A heat supply network and corresponding auxiliary production equipment was installed at the power station, officials said.

The new power station supplies central heating to businesses and residences and employs three kinds of waste -- waste gas, waste water and industrial residue – in an integrated recycling operation.

Officials said it also adopts the current international and domestic cutting-edge energy-saving and environmental protection technologies to achieve ultra-low discharges of major pollutants and zero discharge of wastewater.

The water source required for the production of the power plant is all from the recycled water discharged from the sewage treatment plant in Galutu town, and the fuel required is from the high-quality coal produced by the coal mines in Uxin Banner.

In addition, the ash and slag discharged are sent to a cement plant, so as to realize the recycling of all three waste forms.
