Builder of Inner Mongolia aluminum plant wins top award

China Second Metallurgy Group Corporation Limited, which built Inner Mongolia Mengtai Group’s 900,000 tons a year aluminum production plant -- located in Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- recently won the prestigious China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Excellent Engineering Award.
Officials said the selection of the national quality engineering award in the non-ferrous metal industry is conducted once a year and the evaluation is organized and implemented by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.
The award represents the highest honor in nonferrous industry in China.
The award assessment is based on the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Quality Engineering Review Management Measures. The selected high-quality projects cover such fields as non-ferrous smelting, non-ferrous mining, new materials and environmental protection.
Officials said that this award represented another achievement by China Second Metallurgy Group Corporation Limited-- a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Group Corporation -- that was adhering to its market-oriented, customer-centric and quality-based business philosophy and long-term adherence to the high-tech and high-quality development strategy.
