The municipal government of Ordos city – in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region –  signed an important strategic cooperation agreement with Skywell New Energy Automobile Group Co on June 4 to develop the new energy industry, the Ordos Daily reported.

The two sides agreed to work together to develop clean energy transport and the installation of new energy vehicle charging columns.

Tsetsenbileg, mayor of Ordos, gave a briefing on the economic and social conditions of Ordos city at the signing ceremony.

He pointed out that Ordos is currently developing a modern energy economy, advancing its industrial transformation and upgrading and accelerating the exploration of new high-quality development paths that are oriented towards environmental priorities and green development.

Skywell New Energy Automobile Group Co -- a high-tech company operating in R&D, production, sales and services of new energy vehicles and core components which is headquartered in Nanjing in Jiangsu province -- has cutting-edge technology and resources in the development and production of electric heavy trucks. 

Officials said the deal would be of great significance in boosting the green development of the energy industry in Ordos.

Tsetsenbileg expressed his hopes that both parties would make joint efforts to accelerate the implementation, construction and production of joint projects, to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results for local government and the company.

Huang Hongsheng, chairman of Skywell, said that Ordos has huge development potential for its new energy industry. Huang said Skywell will focus on the development needs of Ordos, accelerating the construction of projects and increasing product development efforts to help Ordos’ economy development.
