Inner Mongolia’s poverty alleviation efforts promoted internationally

Updated: 2020-10-20 Print

The World Tourism Alliance (WTA), a non-governmental non-profit global organization initiated by China, recently publicized 100 cases of poverty alleviation in Beijing, two of which came from North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Uxin Banner in Ordos city and Leiyingzi village in Chifeng city were entered onto the case list.

The two cases reveal Inner Mongolia's efforts to alleviate poverty through developing its rural tourism.

As China aims to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects and shake off poverty in 2020, the WTA wishes to provide poverty alleviation examples through these 100 cases.

The WTA has been positioned as the advocator and practitioner of poverty alleviation through tourism development since its establishment in 2017.

It has released poverty alleviation cases for three years in cooperation with the World Bank and the International Poverty Reduction Center in China.
