Ordos was rated as a national “double support” model city for the fifth consecutive time at a commendation conference held in Beijing on Oct 20.
It received the title for its outstanding support and service to the army.
In past years, Ordos has made great efforts to develop a new relationship between the army and the government, and the army and the people. The goal is to highlight their shared fate and encourage them to join their hearts as one.
The city has explored new ways to achieve its goal and worked to build its "double support brand." The municipal Party committee and the municipal government have attached great importance to the work.
They set up a leading group and formed a work pattern that features the leadership of the Party committee, the guidance of the municipal government, department collaboration, cooperation between the army and local government, and mass participation.

Ordos has also established service centers for veterans in the city’s nine districts, 77 townships and sub-districts and 972 communities, and built a "1+4" service guarantee system for them.
The army and local government are being encouraged to make demands of each other and do practical things, which have led to an improved long-term working mechanism of supporting the soldiers and caring about the people.
After receiving such an honor, Ordos will continue to get united, invigorate its citizens' spirit, and work more practically in the new era. It will strengthen the relationship between the army and the government, between the military and the people, and move forward majestically.
Gao Dequan, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, and Yu Renjie, deputy mayor of the municipal government, attended the meeting at the branch venue in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
