Ordos in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently opened a flagship store to promote local agriculture and animal husbandry products.
The store is located in Ordos city’s Dongsheng district and covers a total area of 1,500 square meters. It was co-built by the Ordos municipal e-commerce service center and Ordos Yundong Agriculture, Forestry and Animal Husbandry Industry Investment Group Co.
Around 1,000 kinds of high-quality agricultural and animal husbandry products from Ordos’ nine districts and banners can be found in the store.
It also provides services such as livestreaming promotions, product branding, business negotiations and product customization.
The store’s establishment is an essential step for Ordos to lift farmers and herdsmen out of poverty by boosting the consumption of local products.
In addition to the flagship store, Ordos has also set up agricultural and animal husbandry sales areas in the city’s six supermarkets.
The measures have led more than 70 enterprises and cooperatives to sell more than 1,000 types of products involving rice, noodles, grains and oils, fresh meat and eggs, fruits and vegetables, snack foods and ethnic crafts.
Meanwhile, Ordos is cooperating with 10 e-commerce platforms to promote online sales of local products. When taken together, the measures amount to a dual online-offline marketing model.
