Technology innovation bears fruit

In 2019, Ordos applied for a total of 2,817 patents, 3.4 times that in 2015, of which 415 were invention patents and 2,149 were utility model patents.

Ordos authorized 1,584 patents throughout last year, 2.9 times that in 2010, including 89 invention patents and 1,346 utility patents.

Ordos announced making 57 scientific and technological achievements last year, nine more than that in 2015.

The number of national high-tech enterprises increased from eight in 2016 to 104, while autonomous region-level enterprise research and development centers increased from four to 51 during the same period.

The number of autonomous regional-level engineering technology research centers increased from two in 2016 to 17, while autonomous region academician expert workstations increased from six to 16.

New economy grows rapidly

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the new generation information technology industry in Ordos initially developed rapidly. 

Subsequently, a series of new economic industries such as solar power, wind power, coal-to-methanol, olefins, graphene, sapphire and new energy vehicles became the new engines of Ordos' economic transformation.

Digital technology, artificial intelligence and other new technologies and new formats continued to penetrate and integrated into Ordos’ existing industries.
