Expanded expressway to connect Ordos to Baotou

The expansion project for the Baotou-Dongsheng section of the Baotou-Maoming Expressway is scheduled to be completed and open to traffic on Nov 16, according to a report from the Ordos Daily.
The Baotou-Dongsheng section connects Baotou city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region to the autonomous region’s Dongsheng district in Ordos city.

What is about to be opened is the right half of the expressway, as the left side went into use on Oct 12, 2019.
The Baotou-Dongsheng section is 138.1 kilometers long and it is constructed with eight standard lanes.
Construction of the project lasted four years and cost 8.13 billion yuan ($2.59 billion).
