New flight route connects Ordos to Wuhai and Baotou

Northern Express Airlines, the first local aviation company in Ordos city – in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is scheduled to operate its second flight route on Dec 7, following the launch of the Ordos – Otog Front Banner short-distance route on Sept 22.

The new flight will connect Ordos to Wuhai and Baotou cities in the autonomous region.

It will run every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The flight will depart from Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport at 9 am and arrive in Wuhai at 10:30 am. After a layover of 30 minutes, it will head to Baotou at 11 am and arrive in Baotou city at 12 pm.

The return flight will leave Baotou at 2 pm and arrive in Wuhai at 3 pm, and it will finally arrive in Ordos at 5 pm.

A single trip ticket from Ordos to Wuhai will cost 180 yuan ($27), while the Wuhai-Baotou trip will cost 150 yuan.

The new flight will use Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport as its main base and operate using a Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. 

It takes nearly four hours to travel by road from Ordos to Wuhai and from Wuhai to Baotou, although it takes only one and a half hours to fly between Ordos and Wuhai, and only one hour from Wuhai to Baotou.

Operation of the new flight is expected to improve regional transportation and help improve the business environment.
